Have you ever held an old picture and had memories whisk you away to another time and place? Did you get a whiff of grandpa’s aftershave? or hear the shrieks of joy when your kids saw their new puppy?
The power of photographs is that they capture the little bits of life that slip through the cracks over time. They remind us of people, places and events that make up our story and can at once bring all of the senses into play.
It never ceases to amaze me how our family flocks together when the print albums come out. Organized stacks of prints often end up in scattered clumps across the living room floor as we remember and share stories. At it’s core, this collection of prints and the memories they invoke is a family history lesson – a legacy.
When we speak about our “family of clients”, we mean just that. Our goal is to develop long-term relationships by providing cherished heirlooms of the unique and special times in the life of your family. We’ve had the privilege of creating a visual legacy for an amazing group of clients over the years and we’d love for you to be a part.
Jennifer and I (John), are the passionate creatives that drive Studio 35. Based in Salisbury, North Carolina, our diverse skill sets offer a complementary blend of style, technique and artistic sensibility. By leveraging the control of a photo studio with the freedom / inspiration afforded by location photography, we are able to provide our clients with quality imagery at fair prices.
Creativity, experience and professional tools ensure we’re equipped to capture your best, whatever the environment. We place a premium on craft and believe in getting it right ‘in-camera’. That’s not to say that your images aren’t enhanced; but we prefer to use image software to make great images better, not salvage marginal ones.
Typical portrait sessions begin with a brief consultation where we explore vision, generate location ideas and schedule your shoot. Where feasible, we develop a basic shot list and scout locations to maximize shooting time during your session.
The beauty of location photography is that every shoot is different; and just as every location is different so are the subjects we capture. Please refer to the work tab for breakouts of each category detailing general information and tips for making your session great, as well as samples of our work! Please see our details tab for specifics on pricing, fulfillment, FAQ’s, etc. In an effort to better serve existing and potential clients, we invite questions and suggestions not addressed on our site.
